Karin Lumsdaine’s largely non-representative works are neither wholly abstract, nor expressionist as they encompass several quite different styles. It is therefore quite appropriate to class her as an Abstract Expressionist. Born in the 60’s during a period of counterculture and revolution, Karin’s works evoke feelings of optimism, marvel and awe.

Karin’s interest in how astronomical cycles impact our subconscious and other anthropological phenomena are another area that set her works apart. This coupled with an innate understanding and love of colour has enabled her to blend hues of stark contrast to interact in a way that is quite spectacular.
